In 14th century Europe, Sean Connery and his young assistant Christian Slater investigate a series of suspisious deaths in an isolated monastry. As they investigate they uncover a conspiracy of silence. This is an effective medieval who-dun-it that is well cast and evokes the feel of a medieval monastry and raises some of the theological issues of the period. It has one of the best performances from Sean Connery.
